EXECUTIVE
President, Chief Executive Officer – Donald Sutherland
Mr. Sutherland co-founded Studon Electric & Controls Inc. in 1995. Don has over 25 years experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors. He holds his Master Electrician designation and is actively involved in several industry associations and is a board member of several private companies. Don is heavily involved in the community and participates in several Red Deer community groups including the Red Deer College "Building Communities Through Learning" campaign.
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer - Damian Zapisocky, CA, CIA, MBA
Mr. Zapisocky is a graduate of the University of Alberta (1999) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA. Shortly after completing his CA designation with Deloitte in Edmonton, Damian held four different positions with Syncrude Canada Ltd. in Ft. McMurray. Damian originally started with Studon in 2006 as the Controller and has grown with Studon to his current position. Damian also serves as the President of the Central AB CA Club and was a 2009 recipient of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of AB Early Career Achievement award.
MANAGEMENT
General Manager, Construction – Andy Metzger, PMP
Mr. Metzger is a Journeyman Electrician with 22 years experience in the electrical and instrumentation sector. He was one of Studon’s first employees in 1996. Andy has enhanced his education at the University of Alberta with several courses leading to a diploma in Project Management.
District Service Manager – Mike Holitski
Mr. Holitski is a dually ticketed Journeyman Instrumentation Technologist and a Journeyman Electrician. Prior to joining Studon, Mike was the Owner and President of Altech Controls Inc., a Red Deer based Instrumentation and Controls company. Prior to that, he was an Instrumentation Specialist with Imperial Oil and Home Oil. During this time he worked at Norman Wells, Liesmer, and Quirk Creek production facilities.
Estimating Manager – Don Angelstad
Mr. Angelstad is a Master Electrician and has been a Project Manager and Chief Estimator with Studon for the past 7 years. Prior to Studon, Don was a Project Manager and Estimator at Titan Electric from 1980 to 1997, and has more than 20 years experience in the industry. Don has taken several courses to maintain his knowledge and familiarity of estimating, notably the McCormick Estimating Course. He has been recognized by his peers as one of the most experienced and talented electrical estimators in the business.
Purchasing Manager – Dyane Zalasky
Business Development Manager – Bryan Lunge
Mr. Lunge has over 25 years experience in the Oilfield and Commercial sectors of the industry. In addition to graduating from the University of Calgary with his Marketing Management Certificate Bryan carries a Journeyman Electrical ticket and holds his Interprovincial distinction. He has worked with Dale Carnegie since 2000 and has mentored hundreds of students through their program. Bryan has lead Studon's Sales & Marketing team for the past 11 years.
Human Relations Manager – Louie McCullagh, CHRP
Mr. McCullagh is a Certified Human Resources Professional with over 20 years experience in the industry. He is a Certified Safety Officer who has taught many courses to enhance his qualifications. He is also involved in several Safety and Human Resource industry associations.
Information Technology Manager – Lori Cherniak
Ms. Cherniak has over 10 years experience with Studon in various positions of increasing responsibility and for the past 4 years as IT Manager. She is taking courses leading to a Certified Information Technology Manager.
Corporate Human Resource Manager - Leanne Colby, CHRP, CPM, RPR
Ms. Colby is a Certified Payroll Manager, Certified Human Resource Professional with over 18 years experience in Payroll, Compensation & Benefits. Leanne has worked with Studon since 2002 and has completed her Human Resource Management Certificate as well as her Management Development Certificate throught the U of A – Edmonton. Leanne is continuously educating herself to enhance the HR Department at Studon.
HSE and QA / QC Manager - Stuart Carson
Mr. Carson is a Nationally Recognized Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) with more than nine years direct experience as a Health and Safety Specialist. Stuart also holds his Bachelor of Science, Risk Management degree and has led Studon's HSE and QA / QC group for the past four years.
